Aspiring young actors are being given a hand to get their “show on the road” by Hugh Bonneville.
The actor, famous for Paddington and Downton Abbey, is working with the National Youth Theatre to launch the Auditions Access Fund.
The scheme will start in 2019 and will see the NYT travel to ten schools and youth centres in the UK per year over the next three years offering free workshops and auditions.
The schools and youth centres have lost drama provision through funding cuts and the areas being visited next year include Southampton, Ebbsfleet in Kent, Leeds and Liskeard in Cornwall.
